Welcome to Darvaza and THE DOOR TO HELL

The Darvaza area of Turkmenistan is rich in natural gas.  Accidently while drilling, Geologists found a cavern filled with gas and the ground collapsed leaving a hole approx. 100 meters in diameter.  To take care of the poisonous gas spewing from the hole they decided to set it on fire.  The locals now call it The Door to Hell and it's been burning since 1971.  

Coca-Cola the Toxic Truth

In 1993 American company Coca Cola moves into a poor settlement in India. The plant was the largest in India and the reason for building here?  Two huge water reservoirs their prospectors saw on satellite.  The people of this very poor settlement are excited about the jobs but very quickly they notice their own water reserves going dry.  What water they do manage to draw from the land makes them sick and burns their skin.  Tests show the water is poisoned with cadmium and lead - sludge runoff from the plant.  The plant is shut down and until this day Coca refuses to compensate the people it has devastated
